Agrawal / Lapland Tour 31.12.-9.1.2020

Agrawal / Lapland Tour 31.12.-9.1.2020

Three destinations with  all the winter activities: husky, snowmobile and reindeer safaris, icebreaker cruise, an  igloo and snow hotel night.

Helsinki  is called the white capital of the north bacause it is dominated by the white Helsinki cathedral at the Senate square. This is also the place where everyone gets on New Year's eve to look at the fireworks. On New Year's day shops and museums are closed so we suggest you to take a long walk along the seaside to Café Ursula, have brunch there and walk back to town. In the afternoon you could visit the Winter Circus Bau by dance theatre Hurjaruth. This is suitable for many different age groups from small children to adults including thetre and acrobatics. Another alternative is a classic music concert.

Saariselkä district  is the most optimal location for northern lights observation  You will get to a wilderness hotel on the hills, stay the first night in an aurora cabin and teh next two nights in a brand new log cabin facing river. Activities here include a sledge-dog safari, a snowmobiling tour night time as well as a visit to Saariselkä ski village where you can try tobogganing a 1,6km route some times and then trying snow tubng. So much fun!

Rovaniemi  is the regional capital of Lapland but yet relatively small with its 70 000 inhabiitants. During the holiday season the ciy centre and especially Santa's village at the Arctic Circle are full of tourist groups. The city centre is pretty simple and dull. I would strongly recommend to stay outside the city centre in order to get higher chances for northern lights and we would then just make sure you have a full day with no timing to spend in Santa's village and in the city centre as you want.  After returning to the hotel you can forget everything and enjoy the nature again and sit by campfire if it looks possible for the northern lights.
